Jonathan Harvey’s heartwarming comedy, Beautiful Thing, tells the story of Jamie, Ste, and Leah, three teenage neighbors in southeast London. Over the course of one long, hot summer, these three friends discover truths about each other, life, and love. This award-winning play, written in 1993 and released on film in 1996, is an urban fairy tale that proves that love can blossom anywhere.
“… seldom has there been a play which so exquisitely and joyously depicts what it’s like to be 16, in the first flush of love and full of optimism.”
