In the fall of 2007, Robert Kuttner ’65 realized that if long-shot Barack Obama won the presidency, he would lead America at a pivotal moment. Then, before the fall campaign had even begun, Kuttner wrote and published a book, Obama’s Challenge, premised on Obama’s victory amidst economic catastrophe. Of course, the idea was uncannily prescient, and the questions raised are no less vital today. A well-known political and economics writer and the co-founder and co-editor of The American Prospect, Robert Kuttner has authored several books, including the acclaimed Everything for Sale: The Virtues and Limits of Markets.

“Barack Obama … will be a great president — or a failed one.”
