With a unique combination of fire and elegance, violinist Jennifer Koh ’97 brings a fresh spark to music new and old. In this concert of unaccompanied violin works, she plays music by Bach and violin virtuoso Ysaÿe alongside a multimedia premiere. A new video by artist Tal Rosner will accompany Koh’s performance of contemporary composer and conductor Esa-Pekka Salonen’s Lachen verlernt. A 2009 Grammy nominee, Koh graduated from Oberlin with degrees in music and English.

BACH and BEYOND Part I:

Bach: Partita No. 3 in E Major, BWV1006

Carter: Fantasy - Remembering Roger

Saariaho: Nocturne - In memory of W. Lutoslawski

“… a risk-taking, high-octane player of the kind who grabs the listener by the ears and refuses to let go.”
