Foundation for Our Future

Museum closed January 2010 through February 2011

In January, the AMAM will begin a building renovation that will ensure that the museum continues to provide deep educational and aesthetic experiences for all. Planned improvements include updating mechanical, climate control, plumbing, electrical, and security systems; building a new interior vestibule at the front entrance; and installing new painting screens and cabinets for art storage. Combined, these projects will preserve the historic building while improving the care of the collections and access to the museum.

The AMAM’s partners in this project are Samuel Anderson Architects of New York (SAA) and McClure Engineering of St. Louis. Oberlin’s Class of 1958 has generously provided funding for the vestibule project, and storage improvements are supported by a major grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities.
