A naming gift to the Allen Memorial Art Museum provides a lasting tribute to an individual or individuals whose contributions deserve recognition and commemoration. Several galleries and art storage spaces are available for naming. Each dedication will be recognized and the name of the benefactor (individual or Class donations) will appear on a permanent donor wall on the ground floor of the Cass Gilbert building.
East Gallery
The East Gallery is one of the most beautiful spaces in the museum. Designed by Cass Gilbert, it is furnished with built-in cases, constructed of walnut, that display decorative art and small paintings. The East Gallery is regularly used for exhibitions, museum receptions, lectures, and concerts.
Upgrades to this space will include new lighting, the installation of non-glare glass in the cases to improve viewing of objects, and renovation of the window wall of the gallery to control light levels. This will allow the museum to exhibit works on paper, enabling visitors to experience prints, drawings, and paintings along with decorative objects.

Ambulatory Gallery
The AMAM’s Ambulatory Gallery, which surrounds the King Sculpture Court in the Cass Gilbert building, is used for special exhibitions and presentations of works from the museum’s permanent collection.
Immediate plans for this gallery include reinstalling art of the ancient Near East, Egypt, Greece, Etruria, Rome, the Islamic world, and Asia. This arrangement will enable the AMAM to present an overview of the museum’s holdings in these areas and foster a wide range of teaching and learning experiences.
